Some things are easier to say out loud. Version 3.0.2 lets you record a short video reflection: a promise to yourself that you can watch back tomorrow, next week, or months from now, and see how far you have come.
It is late, and tomorrow already feels crowded. You open My Reflections, look into your phone and say it: “The most important thing I must accomplish tomorrow is finishing that proposal before lunch.” Thirty seconds. Done.
Tomorrow evening you press play. There you are, in your own voice, making that promise. Either you kept it, and that feels good, or you didn’t, and now you know exactly what to say differently tonight.
That is why I built video reflections. A note you type is a record of what happened. A video of you saying it is a commitment. When you see and hear yourself make it, it is much harder to let it quietly slide.
Say it, then keep it
Video reflections are the heart of My Reflections 3.0.2. Record a short clip on your iPhone or Android phone, and your words are turned into text right on your phone as you speak. Tidy the transcript if you like, rate the moment from 1 to 10, and save it alongside the rest of your reflections.
The clip is there whenever you want to watch yourself again. The words are there when you want to scan back through a month in a minute. And when Reflection Bot is on, it reads your transcript just as it reads a note you typed, so your video reflections show up in the same picture of how things have been going. You can switch it off on your profile at any time.
Watch your clips on your phone, or open the web app on a bigger screen and watch them there, transcript and all.
Three ways to record
Pick the one that fits the moment.
- Free record: one open clip. For when you already know what you want to say and just need to say it.
- Video checkin: three questions, one clip each. The same daily questions as a written check-in: What was the best thing that happened to me today? What is the most important thing I must accomplish tomorrow? What is one thing that I can do to improve my day tomorrow?
- Random Prompt: one journaling question. A gentle nudge when you want to reflect but do not want to choose the topic.
You can re-record a question, finish early, or move on to the next one. Your answers stay paired with their questions, so when you look back you know exactly what you were responding to.

Watch yourself grow
This is my favourite part. Record a check-in every evening for a while, then watch a handful back to back. You will hear the same worry fade. You will hear promises you kept. You will notice the day you sounded lighter, and probably remember why.
Written reflections show you the pattern. Video shows you the person. Both together make it far easier to stay honest with yourself, and to give yourself credit for the progress you actually made.
Questions that keep the commitment going
A commitment is easier to keep when something brings you back to it. That is the second half of 3.0.2.

Daily journaling prompts. Choose the days and the time, and your phone lets you know when your question is ready. Open it and a journal entry is waiting, already started with a question. All you do is answer. Questions are drawn at random from your prompt library, and recent ones are skipped, so mornings stay fresh.
Your own questions. The prompt library comes with questions ready to go, and you can add your own. Write the question you actually need to hear, edit it as your goals change, and export your questions or import a file of new ones. Your questions can come up on a scheduled day, or be the single prompt for a video reflection.
Revisit this topic. Sometimes one question matters more than the rest. On that journal entry, choose Revisit this topic and bring it back daily, weekly or monthly. Each time it returns, you can read what you wrote before you answer again. It is a simple way to stay with something until it shifts.
Part of Professional
Video reflections and scheduled journaling prompts are part of Professional, alongside photo journals, creating groups, and webhooks. Professional is USD $2.99 a month after a 7-day free trial. Core reflections are free and unlimited, as always.

Frequently asked questions
How much video does Professional include?
Professional includes 30 minutes of video reflections each month.
What happens to my videos if Professional ends?
Your written reflections and transcripts always stay with you. Video files are kept for 30 days after Professional ends, then permanently deleted. We’ll remind you when that 30 days starts, again a week before, and again the day before, so there’s time to download any videos you want to keep. You can download from each reflection, or all at once when the set is small enough to bundle.
How long can each recording be?
A Free record clip can run up to 3 minutes. Each Video checkin question and each Random Prompt gets 90 seconds.
Where can I record and watch my videos?
Record in the My Reflections app on iPhone or Android. Watch your clips back on your phone or in the web app, with the transcript right there under the clip.
Do I need a connection to save a video reflection?
Yes. A video reflection needs a connection to save, so record somewhere you have signal or Wi-Fi.
How often do prompts and revisits repeat?
Daily journaling prompts skip questions you were asked recently. Turn on at least 8 prompts and a question won’t repeat within a week. With Revisit this topic, daily can run for up to 30 days, and weekly or monthly for up to 12 times. On those days your chosen question comes back instead of a new random one.
My Reflections is a reflection journal, not therapy or medical advice. Your entries stay private by default; you choose what to share.
